Happy Mediums..

Many years ago, I can remember seeing these on Gardeners World, delicate little flowers dancing on thin wiry stems in the breeze. I brought a yellow one up to Scotland when we moved, and got a bargain it the garden centre last year with another 4 plants of various colours. This one has darkish red sepals with white petals. This shot features the stem of a flower bud, one that's lost its sepals, one in full flower, and an unopened bud. The leaves are quite attractive too, being shades of green with dark reddish veins. The stems are only about six inches high and the flowers tend to hang downwards, so it's quite difficult to get low enough to get a good shot.. They are actually called "Epimediums" but I like "Happy".. My yellow ones from last year.

A dull start today, but brightened up around lunchtime. Have planted out some more Kohl Rabi plants, and sowed rows of salads and spring onions.. Sorted out some hens, we have some new ones coming on Saturday, but we need to get rid of the old ones. Have a friend who feeds his dog on a raw meat diet, so he takes them..

Music..
