Little steps...

Several slightly worried texts from childminder today as becolden boy has been a bit easily upset - couldn't be persuaded to enjoy his usual playgroup this morning and though he perked up after a long afternoon nap he was getting quite droopy again by 4:30. He had to be sung to all the way home (no mean feat when pedalling the bakfiets with tired legs and lungs from yesterday's exertions) and wailed upon being put in the high chair.

However he then proceeded to actually eat for the first time in a few days and managed fruit, yogurt, cheese, pasta, bread, raisins, a couple of daddy's crisps, several beans and a little mince from our chilli and a couple of chocolate buttons. In fact he was so much happier we let him stay up for 15 minutes longer than usual after tea to have a play. The balloon was a hit - a freshly blown up one in a new colour making it interesting again. But the funniest thing was watching him playing with the little step onto the fireplace. Definitely plays like a toddler now, not like a baby.

Fingers crossed for another decent night and a happier day tomorrow.
