The Great Map of Scotland

The Great Map of Scotland is , allegedly, the world's largest terrain relief model.

Created in the Scottish Borders as a tribute to the wartime links between the two countries it is now being restored and tonight's Polish Community reception in the Scottish Parliament featured an exhibition about the map.

Last year a similar reception, in Edinburgh Castle, celebrated the story of Wojtek the Soldier Bear and the attempt to raise a statue to him in Edinburgh's Princes St Gardens.

The Wojtek Trust were also there tonight and the project is as visionary and exciting as ever and closer to fruition provided the present fundraising push succeeds.
