Stewards and fences

They asked for a fence to keep out their neighbor. There was an eclectic mix of garden statues - a Buddha, a gargoyle, assorted concrete squirrels. They wanted to shutter his barn where abandoned cars lingered and old tires littered the drive.

A hundred years of history patched together with tarps and plywood. For all its loyal service, now an urban bane.
