New Life

This butterfly emerged from it's cocoon on the kitchen window just as we got home from school & nursery.
There has been about half a dozen cocoons on the kitchen window and on the fence by the back door all winter, I have wondered if anything would come of them and hadn't washed the window just in case. (Any excuse!)
The timing was great, the boys got to see this one and another just as they emerged, crawled onto the ledge and as their wings transformed unfolding and beginning to have a few practise flutters by the time tea was ready.
