Krämerbrücke
That's the, emmm, Krämer Bridge. <Late Edit> Krämer is also an old word for "Shopkeeper" or "Grocer", it's good to read your own links sometimes...
Hands up if you know where it is.
Naja, the usual suspects have got it right. :-)
It is, of course, to be found in the capital of Thuringia (although we say Thüringen (and sometimes "Freistaat Thüringen")). The city is Erfurt and that's where I had two hours to play while I waited for my train back to Wiesbaden.
I shall back-blip Monday and Tuesday at some point for those desperate to know what I was doing.
But back to Erfurt, my second major city in the old DDR.
I found it very pretty in parts. And not in others (the Communist-era blocks of flats would win prizes for monotony). Some of the reminders of that era are quite fun though - one of the major orbital roads in Erfurt is called the Juri* Gagarin Ring. That tickled me for some reason.
Meanwhile back at the Krämer Bridge. I quite like the idea of living in a house on a bridge. Probably not on this one though. Too many tourists. :-)
*It's definitely Juri and not Yuri. I know this because the toy is called a Jo-Jo and not a Yo-Yo.
