Elephant & Castle rebuilds itself.

Late in the day, Elephant catches up with renewal. The huge estates, built with such hope in the 1960s and 70s, are being destroyed and "mixed use" mega-developments take their place, offices, luxury apartments, something called "retail" (shops), and a tiny handful of affordable apartments for people who do real jobs. And, I have to say this is something today's architects have rediscovered after 100 years of architects who forgot: squares and parks, open green spaces, and trees. As soon as my Nikon arrives, I will be eagerly capturing the changing face of this vigorous patch of London.
