RIP Lily

At 4:38 am we got the call from the Pet Emergency & Specialty Center that the transfusions and medications were not helping Lily.
She was being sedated for comfort.
This was not good.
Our hopes, uncertainties and multiple visitations during the past three days to the Vets had just come to an abrupt end.
We accepted the unhappy news, dressed quickly and with Nevada in tow we arrived to bid her farewell.
Mr LovePopcorn and Nevada left the room afterwards as previously planned.
I stayed to caress her head while they administered the two syringes.
(During the process, a detached part of my mind wondered how sad it must be for the nurses to not only loose a patient, but also to witness the grief of the family)
Lily will be cremated and scattered over the Pacific Ocean.
Emotionally exhausted, we will slowly achieve normalcy after her loss.
