Magnolias

For a couple of weeks each year, the air in suburbia is filled with the heady scent of the giant Southern Magnolias. Such fabulous trees.....but the pure white petals quickly turn brown and gnarled. It's only during the first few hours of opening that they look so pure and 'clean'.
