A Matthew A Day

By MatthewAndMummy

Rainy day!

After sleeping through til 6:30 this morning (yay!) we had a quiet morning at home followed by an early nap, then headed out to Trumpington in the rain.

First stop was a playgroup which our childminder also goes to, and where we sometimes see one of the other babies from out postnatal group - usually with one of his daddy's but today with the other, which was lovely (and not just because he said nice things about me looking very slim compared to this time last year when we first met).

Next stop was our Sing and Sign class - first one of the new term and first one at level 2 - so that was nice, particularly to see Cat and Alex from our NCT group too. Then a group of us headed to Waitrose for lunch. It's always a bit of a faff fitting us in, and there are often not enough high chairs, and the service can be slow, but it's handy and the coffee is free and the food is nice, so we've been going as a group for ages. Today however they were sufficiently rude to us for being in the way (repeatedly, not just once, and more than one member of staff) that we think we won't be going back.

Back home in the pouring rain again and Matthew dozed off. Didn't want to wake him so left him to sleep outside while I had a cuppa with the window open to listen to him and the birds and the rain! Hurray for the waterproof canopy and for waterproofs for mummy.

Bit grumpy on and off this afternoon, but another big dinner - turns out he'll eat mashed swede and carrot if you mix it with yummy haggis. Good lad.
