SF Nooksack - Cavanaugh island progress

It's always great visiting completed projects. This is a picture from atop of an engineered logjam (ELJs) built by the Lummi Tribe in 2012. The 3 ELJs visible in the picture are doing a great job to create pool habitat, increase channel complexity, increase flow into a side channel, and rack additional natural wood (creating larger and more complex structures) all of which should improve conditions for salmon spawning and rearing.
