In Dublin's fair city...

In Dublin's fair city, where the girls are so pretty,
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone...

The unofficial anthem of Dublin tells the tale of a beautiful fishmonger who plied her trade on the streets of Dublin, but who died young of a fever. A statue of Molly was erected to celebrate the city's first millennium in 1988 at the bottom of Grafton Street. This statue is locally known as "The Tart With The Cart", "The Dish With The Fish", "The Trollop With The Scallop(s)", "The Dolly With the Trolley", and "The Flirt in the Skirt". You can check out a version of the song here.
