Just unpacked and swiftly tried out my new Sigma 18-250 lens, I must say, in comparison to the Tamron I had to return as far too soft, this is quite wonderful...I'm delighted with the fast focusing and excellent quiet operation. Here's my first portrait of our Irish terrier, looking quite bemused, trying to work out what I'm up to. Now it looks like I can leave this lens on the camera and cover almost all I may want, even down to the 17 inch min focusing distance, it gives very sharp results but I have a 90mm macro lens if I need to get in closer.
