Done Fishing

When we got up this morning, the rain was pouring down, so went into Alnwick. Spent some time looking around Barton Books, one of the largest second hand bookshops that have set up in what used to be Alnwick railway station. They still use the old waiting rooms as coffee rooms where you can sit and read in front of roaring log fires and have a drink. There is a model railway train that goes around the tops of the bookshelves to remind everyone of the buildings past. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

After lunch we drove over to Lower Newton when the weather brightened and walked along the beach and saw this boat that had reached the end of its working life.

Home tomorrow, may call into Whitby if the weather is reasonable.
