The Tate

Zebedee had a day course for gifted and talented kids at the tate, he has done a few before, he always gets something out of it, today was all about using Art apps on the i-pad, they did some stop-frame animation and experimented with photographic as well as painterley ones, he liked a few of them and has kept them.
Gulli and looked at the William Blake room and sone of my favourite pre-raphelite paintings, Gulli liked the statue of the athlete wrestling a python but we both agreed it would have been more sensible to wear pants....
Gulli and I went for a wander and found ourselves in The Victoria Tower Gardens, Gulli loved the playground, especially a musical foot operated xylophone of 9 squares all linked to different bell sounds, video here.
We alked on so i could show him the Houses of parliament and the Abbey and stumbled accross The Jewel Tower, it's 650 years old and one of only 2 remaining medieval buildings in the palace of Westminster complex.
With only 5 rooms to explore it was a great size for Gulli and I to have a good look around and read up on the history including The history of Weights and Measures some of which were divised here (pint/Gallon etc) and there are very old measuring
cups and jugs on display.
