Lonely balloon in the storm...

... when the heavens opened in the centre of York today; people took shelter anywhere they could, leaving this pink balloon floating along the road.

In case you are wondering, that really is a Christmas shop in the background!

I had previously decided on a blip clearly illustrating that important Yorkshire mantra 'Owt fer Nowt'. This growing queue of people were waiting for the grand opening of a new pizza takeaway; the shop was offering a free pizza to each of the first 200 customers. I didn't wait around to see the full extent of the queue because rain began to drench them minutes after this shot.
