'Queens' Boys'

The Queen's Badge is the highest award in the Boys' Brigade. Candidates who have already gained their President's Badge work for typically 1 - 2 years both at a personal level, and in Service in the Company and the wider Community before, at the Captain's recommendation they attend a Completion Course where their work is assessed.

So proud today, at our church service eight boys from our Boys Brigade were awarded the Queen's Badge, which is a culmination of a lot of work, volunteering, trekking, sports, etc. One of them is my grandson, who is right in the middle of the row looking pretty pleased with himself. There were seven boys present as one could not be there.

A lot of nice things were said about all of them, and they are being encouraged to go in for Officer's training now. We'll see.......

Sunny and showery today.

Tonight going to watch my g'daughter in the Mitchell Theatre in Glasgow where her dance group are in a dance competition. Looking forward to it immnsely. Going out for a meal first, so a good day all round.
