Hitting the Wall

One of the features I've been hoping to both see and photograph on this trip is the Lofoten Wall.

This refers to the appearance of the Lofoten Islands as a continuous wall of mountains rather than as a series of discrete islands. I've seen this from the sea on a previous visit, but in poor light with the tops covered in a thick layer of cloud.

Local knowledge in Å suggested that one of the best places to see the Wall was from the eastern end of the (almost) island of Glåpen at Sørvagen.

The image does I think give at least a sense of the continuous nature of the mountains...
