Training Day

A 5.30am start to get to Hampden Park for 9am can only mean one thing; Commonwealth Games Volunteer Training.

So today we found out about volunteer responsibilities and duties in general, and then specifically what my role will be as part of a mixed zone team member as part of press operations.

The second part in particular was very exciting stuff. I reckon I have one of the best jobs in The Games. It does sound like it's going to be quite demanding though.

Two things I have learnt though is that I am absolutely forbidden to take any photos of the athletes or touch them. Yes I will be close enough to touch them, even possibly escort a few around.

The disadvantage in this is that I won't be able to blip meeting some fantastic athletes. I'll have to come up with innovative ideas for blips when the time comes. Of course, I'll share my experiences with you, in writing, but there won't be any selfies with me and Tom Daley!
