National Debt. GX1.Voigtlander 75mm

This display, constantly updating, is on the side of a building next to our hotel in New York. That building houses the local offices of the IRS, the government agency charged with collecting taxes from the working stiffs of America. They do a pretty good job of that. Unfortunately, it's the corporations and wealthiest citizens of this country that seem to slip like greased eels through the fingers of the IRS. The result is that number, representing the national deficit, displayed on the board. Food for thought in one of the wealthiest cities in the world...
