Soaring in the Blue!

Locally we are blessed with a growing population of Red Kites, and these majestic birds can be seen wheeling gracefully overhead on any given day. Capturing them (photographically) can be a real challenge, as you're shooting towards the sky, they're moving, they're never at the optimal height you need for best detail, and they always seem to know when you've lowered the camera, teasing you as they swoop ever lower, only to climb rapidly again if you even think about trying again!
