Old Darwin Courthouse & Police Station

The Old Police Station and Courthouse is also known as the Old Naval Headquarters because it was occupied by the Australian Navy during the Second World War. Looks better in LARGE.

Rebuilt after suffering severe damage in the cyclone, it now houses government offices. It displays the typical architecture of the time, late 1800s, and is located on the corner of Smith St and The Esplanade.

These buildings were built for the South Australian Government in 1884. They suffered greatly from Cyclone Tracy, but have been restored, and are now used as the offices of the Northern Territory Administrator.
