Stickleback

As a child any wee fish we saw along the river or in the small ponds we called sticklebacks. I have no idea what this is but I will stick to tradition and to me it is a stickleback. Looks pregnant! Large

We use to go with our little nets on a long pole and jam jars with a string handle and fish for these or tadpoles, take them home to show mum who would make us take them back. One time I had a wee tussle with a brother over ' let me see' and the jam jar fell, we were traumatised to have injured the poor creature inside.
