Kallin harbour

The boat beyond the Sara J is the Lady Anne which took us for a voyage around the islands and islets on the east coast of North Uist. Brilliant sunshine all the way and some splendid spots, chief of which was a Sea Eagle being chased by hooded crows. The Eagle is huge, six foot wingspan and treated the crows as we would a gnat. But they persevered and he eventually departed. Also saw a couple of otters but only momentarily as they dived and swam away.

Kalinn harbour is home to small fishing boats and a shellfish collection facility. Our skipper said they caught Velvet Crabs mainly for the Spanish market. I've yet to see these on Masterchef....
