Anemone Nemorosa

One reason for coming to Finland at this time was to experience Spring here; it's been awhile. This little flower was a highlight in my childhood, blooming around Mother's Day, carpeting the forest floors. During my school years we had to gather, press and identify 80 plants; 40 one summer, then another 40 the next. In the fall we had to have all of the Finnish an Latin names memorized. Anemone Nemorosa and it's beautiful blue relative Anemone Hepatica are the only two Latin names I still remember.
