Sgwarnog: In the Field

Orange-tip

After three years of trying, at last a semi-decent photo of an Orange-tip to add to my butterfly blip collection.

There seem to have been a lot more of these about this year, I expect the milder winter has aided that. This one was at the campus allotment. The male (which is the orange tipped) is still proving elusive, but the intricate mossy green pattern on the underwing is shared by male and female and is displayed nicely here.
