green turtle

What a day !! another early alarm to board a 62' sailing catamaran and hed for the Low Isles on the Inner Barrier Reef. There were just 5 of us on board which led to a lot of personal attention , information and food !

We landed on the idyllic sand treasure island, which has a lighthouse in the centre surrounded by trees and takes 15 mins to walk around. First we had the tour, watched the nesting osprey (which would have been enough to make my day) before taking to snorkelling over the reef.

An amazing experience that is difficult to describe, such shapes colours, coral and fish in very shallow clear water. Took my little under water camera but this was an occasion where a photo can never capture the sense of what was seen. We swam with green turtles, reef sharks (we were assured they only eat fish) living coral, clams etc etc. I posted more here on blipfolio, please take a look if you have time.

***by the way a big thanks for putting yesterdays piece of paradise onto spotlight*** and I am trying to catch up with comments when I get a minute
