Speedwell

Today work continued with the steelwork. Our main builder arrived early to speak with the steelworker to discuss what is to happen regarding the concrete, which has not fully set. It was at this point that I learnt that half of the kitchen roof is being removed tomorrow. We knew that end of the kitchen would have to be fully cleared at some point, but a little more notice would have been nice as this was not, as far as I know, happening until the other work had progressed further. I know things have to be done in sequence, but it would be nice to have one part finished rather than five or six things all happening at once.

Today’s picture is of some of the blue Speedwell wildflowers, which are populating the orchard; there is also an ant in the picture! The grass, where there is still some growing, cannot be cut and as I will have a lot of work to do in the next three weeks I think the garden is going to become a complete wilderness wildflower garden this year.
