Hoeve Brughof

This is a former farm (now hotel) at the corner of the present Kaalheidersteenweg and Brughofweg in Kerkrade.

The construction of the farmhouse dates from 1713 and the builder is William Henry Poyck. It is also sometimes called that the date is August 2, 1737. The farm has long been owned by the owners of Castle Erenstein. The name may be derived from the bridge over the Anstelerbeek but is more plausible explanation posed by "broek", "Broch" (water-rich country) which is to "bridge" corrupted. Broekhof / Broch-court was so Brughof.

The farm is now (since 1983) Hotel Erenstein located also referred to as Hotel Brughof. The farm is listed on the Monumentlist.
