Where the Old Meets the New

The owners of the new property had new Ancaster styled railings put up in keeping with the ambience of the original village, but unfortunately the original railings next door did not quite meet up.

This stile of railing was the standard throughout the Ancaster Estate in Lincolnshire, and became known locally as Ancaster Railings. Just about all the original properties in Rippingale had Ancaster Railings but sadly many got taken out or buried in hedges.
