Punts

Another early start, as I had to take Ben to Cambridge for a physics exam, which meant leaving the house just after 7am - we didn't arrive until 8.30 thanks to the usual heavy traffic on the A14. For the two hours of his exam, Rosie and I strolled around Coe Fen and Paradise, and then walked along the Cam towards the City Centre. Although she's very well behaved, I didn't think it was fair to take her right into the city, particularly as it was quite hot and heaving with tourists. So we stopped at Scudamore's boatyard, where all the punts were neatly lined up waiting for the day's punters!

I can't believe how much better the whole experience was than last year. Ben has worked really hard for the exam, and managed to control his pre-exam nerves well, despite not having got much sleep the night before. He came out smiling having finished in good time, and feeling that he'd done a satisfactory job. Result!! He had a restful afternoon dozing in the sun, and helped me mow the lawn, before starting on the revision for his biology exam on Monday.
