Flowers

It was a lovely bright sunny day and I headed into town to enjoy the sunshine, didn't do much but sit around and people watching, I got quite a few nice photographs around Princes street gardens, some classic views of the castle in the sunshine. A lot of the spring flowers have past in the flower beds now but there are some lovely flowery bushes on the other side of the gardens at the moment, am not sure what they are but there are quite a few different colours.

After spending a few hours enjoying the sunshine and listening to a piper busking on the mound for a while I headed up to The Southern for a bite to eat before going to a beer festival at Summerhall. The Southern was really busy but I was lucky enough to get find a table free up just as I arrived and order a pint and a pork & chorizo burger, the burger was delicious served with cheese and guacamole it had a lovely spicy smoky flavour.

And then it was on to the beer festival, to be honest it wasn't the best beer festival, they had a reasonable range of beers on offer and we did get a free glass and half pint on entry. The cheapest beers on offer were from Barney's (the brewery is at The Summerhall) but they were charging £2.40 a half pint, which is pretty steep, considering you could go downstairs to the Royal Dick bar and buy a pint for less than £4! Also the queue at the festival bar was rather long at times, but the music was good and there was a rather good trapeze artist as well. I did manage to get a couple additional free drinks (they handed out bottle tops when you entered to get a free Barneys beer and they didn't take mine, later they poured me the wrong beer so didn't charge me :-)

Edit: I posted some pictures from the Beer Festival on facebook
