A New Visitor

Birds are fond
of bathing
in our pond
but today,
as well as that,
it's become
a giant drinking bowl
for one small cat.

It is two years today since my dear mother died. She adored cats, so the arrival of this visitor early this morning was perfect for a blip in her memory.
