Instant allotment

Today was instant allotment day. The soil is definitely warm enough after a long sunny weekend to start sowing stuff. We are lucky enough to have a pond on the allotment, built by the previous incumbent. The frogs were jumping about all over the place when we arrived. Last year they were good at keeping the slugs at bay on the strawberry bed opposite.

That job done, we went for another lovely bike ride along quiet lanes, no cars. Pit stop at a very posh brasserie for a quick drink - joined by a couple on horseback who bought a pint and shared some with their horses! 23km today - I know, it's a mere pittance for you hardy cyclists but it's good to feel the fitness level rising along with those hills. What a fab outdoorsy weekend, hope yours have been as good.
