Kurrichane Thrush

Hopefully I won't need to be corrected about the name of this bird, because it's been 5 years since I last saw it and my bird book is in the car.

We've had visitors all day at our campsite at Pretoriuskop. So game viewing today involved a walk around the camp and a late afternoon drive. We saw a few beautiful birds on the walk, and some buffalo perched on a huge rock on our drive.

The buffalo were settled down, sleeping on the rock. If a lion had come along, I'm quite sure the buffalo would not have escaped. They would have either slipped on the rock or tumbled over the edge. Not pretty either way.
