Respect, weed

As I toil in the garden clearing serious weeds from one area while noticing they have started to occupy another, I am developing respect for them. For example, while bind wind does have an unfortunate habit of choking all around, it's trumpet-like flowers are a very pure white.

While ground elder covers the ground to the exclusion of everything else, it's leaves are a greet shape and are wonderfully fresh green at the moment.

While nettles sting and cause nasty rashes, you can make soup with it.

While dandelion put hits roots down deep and shouts neglect, it's seed head is just glorious.

All this is a prelude to surrendering to the weed while looking for an honourable way out.
