Bad idea. The shortcut across the car park to Hulme was like a skating rink and my shoes are notoriously slippy. Managed to cut across without falling in the low evening sunlight, across all the traces of intrepid feet and cars. (Grunged using photo grunger app, filtered through Camera Bag Helga then turned black and White just in case you're curious!)
