Ramblings from Zambia....

hope..........

Anticipation in Malawi today as we go to the polls tomorrow in the first tripartite elections. We are holding elections for our President as well as local government elections. According to news reports, about 91% of voters have registered and we are hopeful that elections will be free and fair.

There are four main candidates (out of 11) for Presidency and it will probably be a tight run race between the incumbent President Dr Joyce Banda and the leader of the MCP party (which was the party of Kamuzu Banda, the first life President of the independent country of Malawi after colonialism).

So we wait in hope that the day will be peaceful and that we will have a good leader..........
