One egg left

So I wanted to take a picture of the one egg that's still in the nest. The mockingbirds are gone now, so I was free to inspect the nest. Since it's just a little bit too high, I held my camera above the nest and took this picture.
Of course I didn't look at the picture, but was too impatient to get the egg out of the nest. The moment my finger touched it, it exploded. Yuk! Egg yolk everywhere in the nest. And the smell! I'm sure this nest needs to be thoroughly cleaned before a new family to be can move in. I hope it's going to rain soon...

Looking at the picture now, I'm sure I wouldn't have touched it when I had seen what it looked like.
