Melting ice

At last, a beautiful spring day and it's a balmy 60 degrees. Mary and I went hiking up the shore. We hiked up to the falls on Knife River. Then drove up to Gooseberry Falls and hiked from the falls to the lake where this photo was taken. A huge chunk of ice was still clinging to the cliff and a lot of melt water was coming off it. Our next stop was the Split Rock lighthouse where we hiked to the top of Day Hill for some beautiful views. We stopped and had a picnic by the lake a little farther up the shore before turning back and heading home. A beautiful day!
