Canal life & near death

Nearly the end for the ducklings! I LOVE living so near to the Canal :-) but while admiring the first ducklings of the year, a huge 'ketchup' seagull (the ones with the red splodge on their beaks) swooped down and tried to catch one! Mummy Duck had trained the little ones well though. She quacked loudly once & the mini ones all ducked under the water as the seagull swooped over. She then herded them all into the reeds.

I've never witnessed a seagull duckling attack before & very glad the rabbit and I didn't have to witness it!
