Access denied

This is a new face for an ancient footpath.

The track has wound up the hill from Stanley to Outwood since who knows when, it has been penned in by housing development after housing development and is used by dog walkers, cyclists and horse riders as a car free way from one village to the other.

The makeover has taken a while, but, next week it will open officially with new blacktop and fences to keep people from falling in the stream that runs down the same gulley.

Before it is finished, vandals have already started to break down the fences at the top.
