The view from our apartment today

After yesterday's brilliant weather it was more regular fare today, albeit not quite as bad as forecast or as bad as other parts of the country it seems. The rain was pretty feeble really, tried a bit then gave up through lack of interest.

Our last full day in Windermere started with an unexpected walk around the village. I took Susan and Doreen to do a bit of shopping at Lakeland and enjoy a coffee then went out for a rather hilly run which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I collected the ladies from their morning coffee and we came back for lunch prior to viewing two more houses. Both unfortunately unsuitable although the second house had commanding views over the fells and lake but was dodgy and required far too much work to make it habitable.

We were going on to see a property in Kirkby Longsdale but came back to the apartment for a cup of tea before setting out. The property near Kirkby was by far the best we'd seen all week. We could move in and live there without anything needing to be done. The only problem was the upstairs bathroom which was triangular and I could only stand up at the apex. Otherwise it was great, in a nice position, good garden and good views. One more to look at tomorrow.

Glad to report that I didn't have a scone today. So no scores on the scones.
