Steeple I

Here, in what is known in the US as the 'Bible Belt', there are churches on every corner, from the cities to the small towns to the dirt roads in the country. And now that my job takes me back on the road and traveling the highways and by-ways of rural E. Tennessee, I have become fascinated with the churches I see. Rarely a day goes by that I don't see one and think to myself,"I really need to start taking the time to stop and shoot these."

And so today I did just that. This is the Church of God church on the campus of Lee University in Cleveland, TN. Big and imposing, and not at all my taste in church architecture, it is a stunning building, nonetheless. The steeple just seems a bit odd to me, though.
