Hand Over

The hand over of the much maligned Edinburgh trams to the general public will take place on May 31st and we will not even be here to see this ground shaking event.

As we sat above Princes Street fortifying ourselves in readiness for an attack on food shopping, there was a constant stream of empty trams back and forth along Princes street.

Whether this is to familiarise the drivers with the route or the pedestrians and cars with what to expect, I don't know, but they have been doing this for weeks now and I doubt the general public is so slow as not to fully appreciate what life will be like with a road of trams.

It's not as if we have been taken unawares by their advent after 5 years of disruption to our daily travel in the city centre.
