life starts somewhere

take one christmas tree, one tv, a longer than normal exposure, and then hold the lens, turn the camera, hit the button, crop, and there you have it. life. human. starting. something i worry about these days.

we made it to dads. it was late by the time we left. it was good to spend more time with my sister, but it was sad not to spend more time with dad. he has moved to the flats of lincolnshire to a house that needs enough TLC & DIY to keep him going long into his retirement, which is, of course, his plan. i very nearly put the picture of the odd plaster cast of a naked (not bad) bum on his barn wall - a remnant from the previous owners apparently - but liked this more - that and i just realised i took the bum picture on the 28th! :-)

it was a fairly easy drive, with regular stops to avoid cathy's back seizing. it was a subdued time - dad is shell-shocked, which is no surprise. its hard to see your dad upset. these people we take as gods when we're young seem more and more human as we grow older and even as it scares us, we love them even more. he is a good cook my dad. dinner was delicious. sue made a delicious desert too. food features a lot this time of year doesn't it?
