Chapter Four: Selections

I'm trying to teach myself a new technique in Photoshop that involves masks with complicated edges. I vaguely remember something from years ago that involved a paint bucket icon and some bright green background, but I can't find that reference anywhere. This way is a lot easier, but still involves a lot of brushwork. I've been meaning to buy some black fabric to make a portable screen that I can just physically put behind what I am trying to isolate before I take the photograph. That seems easiest of all, except for the part about having to go to the store for the fabric. And anyway, I didn't know beforehand that I wanted to isolate this flower, not until it reminded me of jewelry.
