Kelpies

We had a mini holiday today...

started off with brunch in my favourite cake shop, where we bumped into my pal Cathy and had a great catch up, then headed over to see the Kelpies... for those of you not based in Scotland, these are new sculptures, 100 feet high, of two giant Kelpies, which are shape shifting water creatures. They often took on the shape of horses to lure people in so that they could eat them... It is said that the Loch Ness Monster is also a Kelpie in a different form.

The sculptures are really dramatic and I was quite taken with them... a few more shots on flickr if you're interested, including a picture of what happens when Kelpies go bad....
