At the end of the day - Hay Festival

Well, we are here. Its raining and mobbed with London's chattering classes and parking is impossible.

There is emergency wet weather parking in Clyro with shuttle buses to and from the Festival site. We tried every car park in the area before finally giving in and going for this service.

One woman summed up the feelings of many as we struggled with umbrellas, anoraks and wellies through the mud:"I could be at home reading a book."
Quite.

Ah but it's the atmosphere.....well that's the theory.
Anyway we kicked off with Jennifer Saunders, funny but nothing like as funny as on the television, and Stephen Fry waxing lyrical over Shakespeare and homosexuality.
We must be in England. I had almost forgotten how different it is from Scotland.
