Striding Starling Meets Gorgeous Grey

Love it that starlings are breeding on our property, even if we don't see them in our garden anymore.

This youngster was feeding in the donkey field and encountered our lovely new horsey friend, a filly. Starlings are such comical birds. They stride along rather than hopping. I've been trying to find out who likened the starling to a parson walking with hands clasped behind his back.

I stood under the oak tree and photographed the two greys as they browsed on the oak leaves. I am not used to horses but have read that one should blow up their noses. They seemed to really like it. I ended up kissing their beautifully soft muzzles.
